Tiffany & Co - Adding Luxury to Performance

When Peter Marino Architects embarked on the four year transformation of the 100,000 square foot Tiffany & Co flagship store in New York, the goal was to create an experience to carry the luxury brand well into the late 21st century. By deploying exquisite materials with a jeweler’s attention to detail, a timeless and transformative architecture was designed to house their unique collection of fine art and extravagant wares.

Lighting designers Tillotson Design Associates envisioned the lighting for the project and selected Specialty’s Mural linear wallwash fixture with a custom, highly polished aluminum finish to light art panel reliefs located throughout the store.

As local manufacturers, we are proud that our fixtures will be part of such an iconic space for years to come.

Project: 1 Vanderbilt NYC

The project at 1 Vanderbilt Avenue in NY NY required lighting to fit between terracotta barrel vaults in the lobby and public areas.  The lights needed to illuminate the space but not compete with the visual statement of the Terracotta vaults.  Thus, the VanDer fixture was born.

301 Hillsborough

LIT Lighting Design Award in the Ambient Lighting Category!

The lobby at 301 Hillsborough in Raleigh, North Carolina needed to carry the linear theme into the ceiling. CBBLD selected the Mosaic from Specialty. The mitered 4 corner flangeless knife edge pocket fixture seemly integrates with the ceiling.  A strip light deployed in the white housing casts a subtle glow creating a linear luminous element. White track heads virtually disappear within the pocket providing the illumination within the space. Single 4-sided knife edge Mosaic fixtures were used to light the feature wall.
